Madden Wiki

A hurry-up offense, also known as a no-huddle offense, is an offensive strategy where teams do not huddle between plays. When issuing a no-huddle command, players immediately run back to the line of scrimmage to repeat the play. The play call menu will not appear when the no-huddle command is invoked, nor will players on both sides of the ball be able to substitute players. Audibles will need to be called to change the plays after a no-huddle command is issued.

In Madden consecutive hurry-up calls will significantly exhaust players on both sides of the ball, and may result in mental mistakes, especially false-start penalties. In some Madden NFL games, a setting can be enabled that increases the chance of false-start penalties if Madden player attempts a no-huddle offense in a situation where a real life NFL team would not.

Hurry-up offenses have been in the Madden series since John Madden Football '93. [1]

Controls[]

Before Madden NFL 2002, no-huddle commands were issued in between plays by holding the X button on the PlayStation.[2] From Madden NFL 2002 onwards, a no-huddle command can be issued in between plays by pressing the triangle button on the PlayStation or the Y button on the Xbox.[3]
