Injuries are damages to the body generally caused by outside sources. In the NFL, when an injury occurs to a player, the player is subject for temporary removal from the game as his injuries are evaluated, and a suggested recovery time is determined.
Recovery time[]
Once the player is fully evaluated, he may return to playing in an NFL game when his suggested recovery time expires. The most severe injuries can end the career of a player in the NFL. Less severe ones prevent a player from playing the rest of the current NFL season, or a few weeks of the current season. The least severe injuries may allow the player to resume play during the same game after a few quarters.
