Madden NFL 2000 is a football video game. It is the fourth 3D title in the Madden NFL, and the second of the Madden NFL games to not solely feature John Madden on the cover in North America (The only other one is the Madden NFL '95 cover). Most versions of the game cover feature Madden prominently in the foreground, and a recognizable Barry Sanders in a background action graphic. The European PAL edition features only Dorsey Levens on the cover. The video at the introduction on the CD-ROM versions of the game is an unnamed track by rapper Ludacris. It is the first Madden game to be released for the Game Boy Color. It is also the first Madden game to be released on both PC and Mac. This is also the first Madden game to feature the newly re-branded Tennessee Titans and the return of the present-day Cleveland Browns increasing the number of NFL teams to 31 resulting in 16 teams in the AFC and 15 teams in the NFC which wouldn't be evened out again until the arrival of the Houston Texans in the 2002 season.

Note: Stadium names are located next to the team name in parentheses.

  • No new stadiums.
  • Ravens Stadium at Camden Yards was renamed into PSINet Stadium.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay is relatively the same as previous Madden games, namely '97, '98, and '99. There are many new features, such as a breakable wrap tackle, dive catching, and many more.
