This is a guideline on how pages should be categorized on Madden Wiki.
NFL/Madden NFL Players[]
- Players should be in the respective "*Position*s" category for the position they have played in the NFL.
- Players should be in the respective "*Team Name* players" category for each team they have participated in in the real NFL.
- Unless they retired, the pages should also be in the correct "Current *Team Name* players" category for the team they are currently playing for in the NFL.
- For players that have retired and are no longer hired in the NFL as a player, the "Retired players" category should be used.
Team pages[]
- Overall pages about NFL teams will be in their own category named "*Team Name* teams" as well as the "*Team Name*" category. This category will be a sub-category of "NFL teams".
- The pages should also be in the "NFL teams" category.
- Pages about NFL teams for certain years (such as Atlanta Falcons (2012)) will be in the respective "*Team Name* teams" category, but not the "*Team Name*" category.
- For NFL Europe teams, follow the above rules, but all instances of "NFL teams" will be replaced by "NFL Europe teams" to differentiate them from the main NFL teams.
Category renames[]
- The category names are subject to change when teams change their name, usually as a result of a relocation (such as the San Diego Chargers becoming the Los Angeles Chargers), but can also occur due to controversy (such as the Washington Football Team dropping its former Redskins mascot and name). In other words, only the current team names should be used.
