In Madden NFL 09, their overall was 93 while from Madden NFL 10 to Madden NFL 12, their overall was 99.

In Madden games from 1999 to 2003, they played at Maddenstein Stadium as the Shadow Gate Monsters from Moldavia, a regional place in eastern section of Europe. Their stadium resembled as a castle-like structure with a stadium capacity of 0 and their stadium had a stone-like surface.

Madden NFL 09 - Madden NFL 12[]

From Madden NFL 09 to Madden NFL 12, they played at the Champions stadium with a dirt surface type and shared the stadium with the Kickers and the Manipulators. The uniforms changed to a yellow and black look.

Trivia (Madden 1999 to Madden 2004 Monsters)[]

From Madden NFL 2000 all Monsters do not wear helmets but from Madden NFL 2001 to Madden 2004, certain monster players do wear helmets. The Madden NFL 09 to Madden NFL 12 monsters do wear their helmets.
From Madden NFL 2001 to Madden NFL 2004, they look like mutated monsters but in Madden NFL 2000 and from Madden NFL 09 to Madden NFL 12, they look like actual human players albeit a bit mutated.
Between all Madden Games, their uniforms change slightly.
The first logo of the Monsters team was recycled as a usable logo for Create-A-Team mode.
In Madden NFL 2000, the name of the stadium is Castle Stadium but from Madden NFL 2001 to Madden NFL 2004, the stadium's name is changed to Maddenstein Stadium.
The Madden NFL Monsters from 1999 to 2001 have the lowest overall of any Madden fantasy team to date.
On Madden NFL 2004, the team can be unlocked by linking the GameCube with the Game Boy Advance.
They are also the only fantasy team EA brought back from the classic fantasy teams from Madden NFL 99 to Madden NFL 2004 and only EA classic fantasy team with a league championship message and two bios. All others have 1 bio and no league championship message.
Of all the fantasy locations except Texas, Michigan, New Jersey, Egypt, and Italy, Moldavia is the only one that is non-fictional since its a regional area in Eastern Europe and also Moldova's old name before it was changed.
The Shadow Gate Monsters stadium and team is also shown in NCAA Football 2002 but no other NCAA game afterwards.
Maddenstein Stadium in PS1, N64 and PC versions is a castle structure while the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube versions feature red, blue, purple and green neon set within a mixture of a haunted mansion and a castle with balconies on both sidelines.
From Madden NFL 2000 - Madden NFL 2001 and NCAA Football 2002, the endzone had the word Monsters with the team lettering in conjunction with its logo for the letter "o". From Madden NFL 2002, the endzone was made the same as the field surface and logos used were the NFL logo and the team logo. From Madden NFL 2003 - Madden NFL 2004, only the team's logo was used for the endzone.
Their theme can be heard in PS1 and PC versions of Madden games between 1999 and 2003 but not the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, or N64 versions.
In Madden NFL 2001's PC Version, their PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube models were combined with the stadium setting from Madden NFL 2000.
The background color for the Monsters endzone in Madden NFL 2000 was a dark green before being changed to black for Madden NFL 2001.
The 1999 to 2003 Monsters do have a daytime version of their stadium but it is only seen in Franchise, Season, or Tournament modes and only on the PC version.
The name Shadow Gate in the Monsters team name from 1999 to 2003 is a reference to a 1987 point and click adventure game called Shadowgate.
The Castle Stadium in Madden NFL 2000 has different endzone art than what is shown in the actual gameplay. This probably was an early design of the Monsters endzone art. Judging by the appearance, it has a different team name and logo which resembles a snake but is too pixelated and blurry to make it out.
The Madden card cover for the Shadow Gate Monsters in the 6th gen consoles shows the old PS1 design of Maddenstein Stadium, aka Castle Stadium.
In Madden NFL 2004's GameCube version, the Monsters stadium when in select stadium shows the Monsters logo, except for the eyes, in grey instead of green.

Trivia (Madden 09 to Madden 12 Monsters)[]

If Monsters of today (Madden NFL 09 to Madden NFL 12) had their own stadium, it would be most likely called "Intimidation Field."
From 1999 to 2003, they were known as the Shadow Gate Monsters but from 2008 to 2011, they could be either the Hidden Valley Monsters or the Mythtropolis Monsters.
The Monsters in the Madden NFL 09 to Madden NFL 12 games on 6th gen consoles are champions of the Black & Blue league.
The Madden 09 to Madden 12 Monsters have an ability called Intimidation which can cover the buttons of your receivers with a question mark instead of the usual letter or shape buttons.
The Madden 09 to Madden 12 Monsters have a more muscular build compared to the skinny looking of the Madden 2001 to Madden 2004 Monsters.
The Madden 09 to Madden 12 Monsters Intimidation ability does depend on difficulty and the score of the game like a 10 - 7 close score game or a 35 - 7 distant score game but it seems that the Intimidation ability can be random from time to time.
All of their players have a height of 5 foot 6 inches (about 1.6764 meters).
